The government announced the next stage in the release from lockdown today. We thought all businesses would be allowed to open, albeit with varying restrictions according to the nature of the activity. Sadly, that was not the case. The pubs and restaurants can open, and hair-dressers can take on clients again. That is, after all, what the population needs more than anything. To get drunk and fat with beautiful hair. The gyms and swimming pools are to remain closed. Cinemas are open (an enclosed air-conditioned room you share with 100 other people for 2 hours straight). Any indoor activity involving fitness or well-being is prohibited.

British Gymnastics said they were "dismayed by Government’s failure to help the sport return" (BG news).

The 2 metre rule is to be scrapped as well. People should remain 2 metres apart where possible but a "one metre plus" rule will be introduced. This will allow people into the pubs and restaurants. Many of them have said 2 metres is impossible in the confined spaces they have.

And then I rant on how fast our population returns to fast food served in disposable wrappings. My idea of fast food is the raspberries on the allotment. The canes are producing food at a faster rate than we will ever eat.Â
